day 21 silkie chicks incubator, chirp but no pip

we are on day 21 with my silkies in the incubator, all 7 were alive when we went into lock down and this is my first DRY hatch. I hear chirping but no pipping, how long do I wait to worry about them losing air. I helped another batch and one lived and the other died. The one that died didnt look like it had absorbed the yolk so i think if i would have left that one it would have lived but the other needed help...how long do i wait to help or check? I dont want then to run out of air but then i also dont want to hurt them,.....help please.... thanks for any input

What do you mean by dry hatch.

You need to let them external pip. If you can hear them chirping and there is no external pip, then they have just internally piped. You need to watch for external pips and then it can still take 24 hours to hatch after that.

What's your humidity currently at? How long have the chicks been internally pipped (since you've been able to hear chirping)?

It can take 24 hours after pipping for them to hatch. Hard as it is, try not to worry too much.

Be patient assisting is a last resort not a part of hatching process.

Dry hatching is where you keep the humidity low during incubation, about 20%-40% I think? Then during lockdown, you raise the humidity up to 50%-60%.

That is called dry incubation not dry hatching nobody dry hatches that I know of.
