I have 4 week old Cornish Rock Cross birds that we thought were all male. Their combs vary a lot in color and size (from pink/peach/small to deep red/large). Is there a meaning behind the color differences? sorry for the ignorant question - obviously its my first batch.

It might be just individual variation, or it might be that some are female. Sexing is not 100% accurate.

My cornish will be 3 weeks old this Tuesday and I am fairly sure that one is going to be a roo (they were supposed to be pullets). His comb is slightly larger than the others' though there's no difference in color. He is getting his wattle and it's bigger than the others'. He is bigger than the others and he is meaner. I try to pick them up to be weighed and he is right there "protecting" them. I will be very surprised if he does not turn out to be a roo.

Keep us updated!
