Loving your coop. Have we talked about predator proofing your beautiful windows. Sorry if we had and I missed it.

The window in the coop will get hardware cloth on the inside with poultry staples and then finished with composite trim over. The window will open from the exterior. I got 2 locks and carabiners for them.Loving your coop. Have we talked about predator proofing your beautiful windows. Sorry if we had and I missed it.
I love this tip! I may switch to those when the pine flakes are gone.An alternative to sand is pine pellets made into sawdust. Still scoopable, smell better and compostable. I'm a scooper too
Has anyone done nesting boxes one on top of the other? I’m considering doing 2 boxes one on top of each other to save space. They would be solid material to avoid droppings getting into the box below… thoughts?
I would block off the rafters myself. Chicken wire, taut bird netting, anything that she can just bounce off of should work fine. Our leghorn can fly up to the rafters in the coop (the eaves are open but with hardware cloth), talk about trying to roost at the highest spot. Should I try to deter her from this?
