Chick with Deformed Leg

Hi chicken parents! We had a hatching last night that has a deformed leg. It is as if it will not bend to get the leg forward. Other than that this chick is healthy and able to hop around on one leg unlike hatchlings that are not able to function properly and are unhealthy once hatched. This little one has dried and is eating and happy, but I don't want its quality of life to be affected by its leg. Suggestions? Any one else experienced this?

That looks more like a twisted tibia to me. I’m going to tag @Eggcessive and @casportpony because I don’t know much about this. I hope s/he gets well soon!

The chick has a twisted tibia for sure, a leg bone deformity. There is no treatment. Unfortunately many of these chicks are put down since they are unable to get food and water. Here is some reading:

Occasionally some can thrive with help of a chicken sling, or a chicken wheelchair. A few have received artificial legs.
