This morning, I picked up 2 Barred Rock chicks from Peninsula Feed Store in Redwood City. They are adorable and I can't wait to watch them grow into beautiful hens. Here are some pics of the new babes, as well as some of the older feathered friends I have. Our hens: "TJ" is the white chicken we hatched from an egg last July, "Red" is the dark brown, "Phoebe" is light brown. We rescued these 2 from an egg farm in San Jose. 5 other young ones (10 weeks old) have yet to be named. We hatched them from eggs we got from Morgan Hill. Some of these are cockerels and will need to be re-homed.
