I'm sure the snow caused it and it can't fully heal until she's out ripping around on it again. She doesn't care and the alternative is to not take her out. That is not acceptable.

You could fit her paw into some kind of leather shoe to allow for healing.

Not good, have you thought to test her for Von Willebrand

It's just a scratch on the side of a toe pad from the snowpack. I bought something called Mushers Secret that is supposed to help toughen the toe pads. But it just looks like heavy duty paw lotion! I'll give it a shot.

Shad I’ve heard you mentioning the midnight coops opening a few times in the past. Any chance you could put a bike locks or something on them? Maybe a tricky bolt tucked in somewhere?

If you apply it carefully and allow it to form a skin it stays on the site. I have had chickens with foot wounds here is the house that have been treated with Stokholm Tar and at most I've had one or two spots that needed cleaning up. If it didn't skin over then the donkeys here would be wandering around with half a field attached to a treated hoof.
It was just a thought.

It was a good thought! It would work to heal the cut.
I am also pretty sure she'd lick it off before it could skin over!
