I have 3 blue birds, no idea the breed, but I think whatever breed they are one of the 3 are different. I was also wondering if one of them looks like a rooster to anyone else. They're 9 weeks old, Piccalo is the one I have questions about on gender. Penguin however seems to be different than the other 2. She has huge legs compared to everyone else, she feathered later than everyone else, and everything seems extra big on her. At first glance they seem similar but, She feels at least a pound heavier, although she was the littlest as babies. Her face and eyes all seem bigger than everyone elses. Her eyes are also a different color than the other 2 blues, theirs are light penguins are dark, she also seems to have an extra comb point than the other blues. She's also had much yellower skin than the other 2 blues since being little. I'm wondering if she's the same breed as them, whatever they are, or if she's something different. She also has different colored feet. They were sold together as calico princesses but that's obviously not the case lol. I'm also wondering if piccalo may be a boy because of how red her face is getting compared to not just the blues but all of my chicks. I threw a few baby chick pics of the two in question, because penguin has been all feet since before she got feathers. I'll add a picture of the dark Swan as well, even though her and piccalo share all the same features except the early redness on piccalo. I tried to keep them in order but they uploaded at different speeds, all the pictures are marked with names though. Thanks in advance for any thoughts y'all!

Seems to be a few unmarked photos, they are of penguin to try and show the thickness of her legs & feet.

They all look the same to me. Some individual simply grow at a faster rate than others.

Breed? Sapphire Gems make sense. These are blue and I can tell they are yellow skinned birds, so that fits. It also fits for blue Jersey Giants, although those are more rare. And there are any number of hatchery hybrids out there, too, that they could be.

At least two have large combs and wattles for 9 weeks, but they have even coloring, and that's the sign of a female in blue chickens. So mixed signals. I would give them some more time to show their true colors.

Thank you! They were selling about 5 "blue" breeds, jersey giants included, no sapphire gems according to the cashier but like I said they were labeled calico princesses, so who knows. I dont think they know, themselves. Lol One of the three just feels, looks and acts so much differently than the other two, in my opinion anyway :) I'm hoping we have a rooster, if not I guess I'll have go searching for one.

If they are Sapphire Gems, they're all female. Males have barred feathers.

That's okay :) every chicken keeper around us consistently have roosters to re-home, I just don't want to get one until we're sure we don't already have one.
