Bleeding Pinfeather on Pekin Duck

Hi All,

I notice my Pekin Drake "Pickle" had some blood on his feathers yesterday. I brought him in today to examine him, so I first gave him a nice warm bath. Immediately blood started dripping from one of his pinfeathers on his wing (he is molting right now). I am not sure how to help him/ I read in a forum that the feather should be removed with a hemostat to prevent massive bleeding. Any insight or suggestions?

pull the feather out. or it will continue bleeding.
use pliers? or tweezers? or anything really. just make sure you pull the entire feather out.

Never had to do this so won't advise, just hope you have blood stop or corn starch or flour any of thsoe will help stop bleeding.

We have been waiting so long for an update on your 2 littles that got scalded how are they?

The bleeding has stopped, but if it gets wet, it bleeds again. So I'm not sure what to do in this situation. @ Miss Lydia-Regarding the babies, I did post an update 3 days ago, their status is the same as when I posted then. They are doing well. Actually, I'd like you advice on their updated condition. You can comment over there since I don't want to confuse people. Pull thst boy out and then apply slight pressure to stop bleeding. If you don't pull it out, the duck could become anemic or continue bleeding until...well, just pull the feather out
P.s. I've taken a bird to the vet before because it got into a fight and broke some pin feathers, this (pulling the feather out) is what the vet did for my bird.
