Belchertown MA Chicken Swap Sat. April 18 CANCELLED

They are! After loosing so many to a couple of nasty dogs, we reinforced the outside run. I will be needing to thin the roos, as I have too many. But all set for Monday, to crate the birds for the testing.

It's very easy. On the day of your appointment just keep your birds locked in the coop until the technician arrives. Then take them out one at a time and they will do the blood test and throat swab. I really don't know why more people get it done.

The man didn't do a throat swab on mine, only took blood. Took only about a half hour for 17 birds. I wish that people that post on CL that have birds, would say whether they are tested or not. Half the time, you reply to someone, and ask, and either they don't bother replying back, or do reply and ask what the heck is a NPIP certificate. I won't purchase any poultry, unless the flock has been tested.
