Are blue eggs ever really blue?

Legbars went the same direction and accept green tinted eggs.
It's a shame IMO. I raised ameraucana before they were an accepted breed and the blue eggs were always their hallmark feature. It was never a problem to keep them pure for blue only eggs.
I'm not a fan of changing standards because breeders can't/ won't/ don't breed to the standard.

I think if I ever tried again I'd go with someone who breeds Ameraucana's specificially. Same with Marans. I have a copper Maran coming in two weeks and I'm afraid I'll just have dark brown eggs but not the sought after dark chocolate.

My best blue eggs came from EE's...sold as Americanas.
CLB were blue but very pale.
Problem I see is that breeders don't concentrate on egg color,
not sure how important egg color is in the SOP's.
