Anyone Know anyone with QUAILITY Bantam or Standard Cochins

but really, does nobody know a good bantam cochin breeder that sells hatching eggs ??

I really Really REALLY ! want my hen to incubate eggs in the winter in my garage

I 'rescued' a cochin last week. It was advertised on Craigslist as a Silkie! I was kind of mad when I got there, but she was too cute to leave. Poor thing lost her hubby (Romeo and Juliet, not kidding haha) and her and 10 other chickens were in 100 degree weather trapped in a tiny dog pin. She really is a sweet chicken, but never moves an inch!
The only thing she does is DEVOURS milk covered bread!

Oh, and I don't know of any breeders. Sorry!!! Here in Ga there's a Farmer's Market Bulletin (dept of agriculture for the state) and I found a lot of ads on there.

You know a pair might cost you more upfront but at least you know exactly what you're getting, the sexes, etc. With hatching eggs, there is a risk with shipping and then you have brood them for months until you can sex & evaluate each bird for it's potential as a breeder or show bird....I'm just saying.....

Im not going to use them as breeders or to show, just as pets

Try getting up with Star Cochins out of GA. We have gotten birds from them before. Be prepared to shove out some dough for them, though.
