Cutie is my daughter's chicken.
I say Cutie is a boy.
She said I needed to post on here to see if anyone thinks Cutie actually is a girl before Cutie goes elsewhere. Thoughts?

Cutie will be 6 months old next week. The attached photos are from a week or so ago. No crowing. No laying. No dancing or tidbitting or chest bumping or any other clues.

Thanks for voting!

Eta: later comment has photos from today!

Took updated photos today… we bought Cutie June 23rd at a few days old, so Cutie is nearly 6 months old.

I’m not seeing streamers like with our other Silkie boys (by 3 months old)…
But… that’s a big red comb…

I even compared Suzy’s tail & poof to Cutie’s… pretty similar. 🤷🏻‍♀️ (same breeder, same age)

So what do you think??

I say dude.
I don't see male specific feathering, but I think it is probably a cockerel due to the red comb.
I think the same... most days. Today I just can't decide! I moved Cutie from the chicken tractor where he/she was with the 11.5 month old cockerel Raymond we have to rehome to a soup pot due to fighting with the lead roo. Cutie is now happily back with hatchmates in the pullet pen. During the last two weeks, Cutie and Raymond have gotten along just fine in the tractor. Raymond danced around Cutie at first, but no fighting or mating attempts at all. (Raymond fights until both him and Shushpop the lead roo are bloody... even through a fence, so Raymond must go.) I'm not sure what to think of Cutie other than he/she isn't yet sexually mature, so Raymond doesn't mind him/her in the shared pen.
