10 Week Old Cockerel?

I am giving My Black Copper Maran to someone on Tuesday that is suppose to be cockerel. I am already positive I have 2 other cockerels I am about to rehome because I cannot keep these cockerels together as you can see there will be a lot of fighting. He acts like a cockerel, dominant, etc.. but his comb is rather small for 10 weeks.

At 10 weeks I would expect to see copper in his wing bows and saddle of a BCM cockerel. He has none. But his comb is quite red so maybe it's a late bloomer. Are your certain it is 10 weeks? Weeks matter...

Yes, I am positive. He hatched June 17.

That's a very large, red comb for a pullet at 10 weeks, IMO. Could you get a better picture from the side?

Well then what an odd boy for a BCM. Should have copper showing. Now I'm wondering if it's mixed.

He does have some gold on his back. The chickens I hatched him from I am pretty sure were black copper marans too.

While it's unusual and quite odd he's not showing any red in the wing bars, I'm still going with cockerel. Is there a possibility your little guy isn't pure BCM?

Pretty sure? I suspect he is mixed.
