I'm calling the @Kiki batch. Looks like the last two eggs are dead.
28 set, 4 clear, 22 chicks.

Let's see, I have 22 + 8 + 8 = 38 chick. Super curly and Albino Bug-Eyes had to be culled, so that leaves 36 chicks in the brooder. It's amazing how much of a size difference three days makes.

I'm officially out of the button business. I have two hens left. I sold my male and one of his mates last week and all nine chicks today.

Hi, everyone! I'm new to quail and I have 18 "select" button quail from Quail Life here in Florida coming in the incubator. I am planning to keep them in the bottom of my finch aviary. The eggs are very dark and small and I haven't come up with a way to candle them. They're due to hatch on the 13 and I'm very excited!

I don't think so. They're cute pets, but I prefer cats for pets and coturnix for livestock.

A cup worked on mine. It took a few days because I did it for a few hours then I’d give it a break.

A cup worked on mine. It took a few days because I did it for a few hours then I’d give it a break.

I'm going to keep it in the cup until I go to bed, then I'll let it loose in the brooder overnight. It's trying to jump out of the cup, so it's exercising the right muscles.

I've had pretty good luck taping their legs together, evenly spaced of course, but I do like the cup idea....
