We've got restrictions on roos + are concerned our 9 week old Ameraucana could very well be one. Anyone want to weigh in? He/she just started crowing a bit, but I've heard that could be true of a hen, as he/she is the dominant chick in the bunch.

Hi there, I recently got some new chicks and I am trying to figure out if I have a roo or pullet in both my birds. I have a splash silkie and a silver laced orpington. These pictures were taken when they were 8 weeks old. They are now 11 weeks old.

The breed is sapphire splash and is about 4 months old. It started making a rooster call his morning but it looks like a hen to me.
