Well, of my three EE pullets I think one is actually a pullet, lol. So the BYC experts were right...I love this site! The other two have red combs and definitely roo tail feathers developing. I plan to give the roosters away so I have a question. Is it possible that their (the roosters)...
Yeah! I'm happy for you! I bought four 'pullets' earlier in the spring. They are so cute....well one is a RIR and three are EE's. However, my EE Helga turned into Julio! I'm waiting to hear him crow. I'm hoping to keep him if he and Joe can get along.....but in the past week he has pecked at me...
Sigh....I had the three EE pullets from the feed store. They weren't here long before Helga became Julio. Now this morning one of the two remaining pullets has a distinct pink color on HER comb...at.7 weeks. At this rate I will never get more colored eggs. I love Julio and had already planned to...

Sleety snow is falling now so there wont be any outside trekking for them until that has all cleared and it is...
I put some raw apple in with them and I cannot see that they have eaten any.....I tried a piece of cheese, too. I think as they settle in and grow they will be more comfortable and their appetite will increase, too. At least I hope. I've had chickens since September, but I have not kept any...
I love them! I just wish they would eat more than chick starter. I guess the store had them on it for the past week and now they don't know any different.
I got chicks yesterday at the feed store. One is RIR and the other three they said are Araucana.....so I am figuring they are EE's. I wanted the experience of raising some without a broody. I already feel bad for them with no mom. And how will the flock act toward them with no mom to protect...
