I think it's just a matter of how fast the heat penetrates the egg to start development. Smaller eggs heat up faster than larger eggs, in other words, so they start developing a little sooner. 🙂 For the record, yes, my bantams tend to hatch a day or two early. Especially my OEGBs, but their eggs...

Eggs due on the first will count as well? I have some due then as well! I will not be adding any more to my incubator in time, though, so what's in right now is going to be my total for the hatchalong if that's the case and I can send in my number. 🙂

If you set on the 18th, then day 1 is the 19th. Think of the 18th as day 0; they've not been in the incubator long enough for anything to have happened, so that day doesn't really count toward development. 🙂
