Goid plan ane Junnebugga is correct, I didn't notice you said earlier they were just 6 weeks, way too early to see saddle feathers, mine are the same age and they are just barely starting to emerge .

do you know what they mean by saddle feathers? I zoomed in on your pics and I can see one questionable feather. The saddle feathers come from between the wings and on males are distinctly pointed. Easiest to tell by isolating one feather tip against a solid background like your hand. Pulletts...

you are essentially "replying"to the overall thread. It doesn't have to be a reply to someone else. You can simply push the picture icon described earlier and it gives you the chance to upload from your device. You can add text. If you DO want to reply to or quote someone that is also an option.

Too early for saddle feathers anyway as its just 5-6 weeks old. It just seems wY too blotchy red to be a girl. I agree though. The comb is still pale, but it's a titch wide.

I hope the Wyandotte are sweet, I was under the impression they were. I will be sad if they are ornery, I really wanted to avoid personalities like my Reds but get something different than my Orpingtons though I love them.

I added just one E.E. this year cause I had too many other breeds to add to my flock but just loooove those fun eggs and spastic birds. Anxious to seeif I get a new color scheme. her new flockmates behind her are pretty cute....some cochins, D'uccle, Polish and a wyandotte edged out more E.E...

    Easter Egger club!

This is exactly what mine named Easter (my daughter names like a 5 year old) looks like! Before the mystery feather picker in the group made her look like a down covered hacked up mess......Mine lays green eggs with speckles.....She started laying at 18 weeks if I remember right but unless the...

Nice! As to separating, yeah, was just thinking this weekend that maybe I can take the 3 that are missing feathers and isolate them. It is either the Brahma right above them in pecking order or it is the other EE that is above Wester in the pecking order.....grrrr.

Thanks! Your boy is pretty awesome too. Wester (the hen) lays beautiful light blue eggs. Right now she looks like she got caught in a lawnmower, have to figure out if it is a feather picker in the bunch, or if it is just left over from our now gone Brahama rooster that tore a few of them up and...

    Easter Egger club!

arrgh, I just clued in that I may be having the same problem...I thought it was just left over from before I got rid of the rooster and they would be bare till they molted....it is the bottom 3 of the flock that are bare or almost bare backed. I didnt think much of it since he was really rough...

I soak it once (or if I am feeling luxurious for time twice) a day for 5 min. I mix it as directed just 5.5 grams in 16 oz container with a lid so that I can just pour it in the smaller container only big enough to fit their foot and I have enough mixed for a week. I place their foot in the...
