Is it ok to keep them in a dark room? I don't know I never did this before I always ordered chicks from hatcheries.

I am going to be keeping eggs over the next couple days to hatch. How many days can eggs be left set out and they still be hatchable when I put in the incubator? I'm hoping they can still be good up to about 7 days....?

Seeing all these chicks make me want some right now! In 21 days, I will be setting around 10-15 eggs in the incubator and they should hatch March 13th. I will also be getting 15 chicks from Cackle hatchery on March 13th and I can't wait!

Haha most likely. It's kind of funny the first couple of times because they try their hardest to succeed, but don't.

It's strange because all of my EE's lay blue eggs and no green ones.

I got my EE's from cackle as well and I have a Snowflake that looks like your white one. She is my favorite!

Blondie laid her first egg today!!

It looks blue to me. I have a squatter too and she is my last one from February's hatch to lay an egg. Hopefully soon since I saw my EE roo mate with her today.

That's good! Two days ago it was snowing here but didn't amount to much. Me seeing your picture of the chicks makes me want some! Boy do I hate having to wait until end of February to early March for my new chicks! Next spring I will have close to 60 chickens. I am expecting to get 30 chicks and...

Poor things! I just saw the news about the snow storm that has power out and sounds so bad out west. I'm guessing that is what it is from? Here in PA, it's just cold outside, no snow yet thank gosh!
