Some baby pics!! Still in the "baby bubble" until the kids get home from school and can help me transport them to the brooder, so I'll get better pics later but I wanted to share these now. So cute!!!
3 more out, 3 left to go!!
So far I have a black silkie of each fully fluffed and showgirl, a white fully fluffed silkie, a little bantam golden wyandotte and a little blondie bantam orp! I believe she will grow up to be white, but if im lucky, they will stay buff and be mini matches of my...
I feel like we are gonna have some twinsies! I also hatched a white fluff and a black showgirl so far today and have 2 more silkies and 2 each bantam orps and bantam wyandottes to go!!
So my bantam/silkie eggs decided to make a fool of me and rather than hatching at 19-20 days as usual, they decided to go the full 21! One silkie came out a couple hours ago, pretty sure it'll be an all white fluff ball!! And I just popped out a black showgirl! I'm so excited for that little...
Are they standard chicken eggs? Bantams? What breed are they? Those details can make a big difference. Bantams will hatch earlier than standard eggs and silkies, whether bantam or not, in my experience, tend to hatch a day or two earlier.
Also, what is the temp you've been running? Higher...
I have a clutch of bantams going myself! Locking down in about an hour, hoping to hatch on friday/Saturday! Mine are showgirl silkies, bantam orpingtons and bantam wyandottes. Started with a dozen, now I'm down to 8, but not too bad for an early hatch!!
Best of luck to you and little ones!!
Started with 1 dozen. Pulled a dud after 7 days. Checked again yesterday, as there was one other that I was iffy on (I had a small crack that I could only see when candeling), and sure enough, I pulled 3 more!! It's so sad when they start to develop and Peter out after a week or so...
Got my eggs yesterday and ended up with all bantams!! I'll be setting mine on Sunday instead of Saturday, as I have typically hatched bantams at 18-20 days versus 21. I figure, if I start a day later, I could either be right on time with everyone else, or a day or two early. It's not constant...
I will for sure be joining this year! Heading out of state for a week, early March, but I've already scheduled my egg pick up for 3/15 in preparation for incubation starting on Saturday!
Yippee!!
