Hatching question! Is there a difference between lights on or off when chicks are hatching? Do they need darkness to hatch better? I have had a styrofoam cover on. Now the excitement has started, I wanted to leave it off. Good or bad idea???

Great job everyone! So excited for everyone! My second batch is due in 7 days. 100 percent fertility on my dozen eggs. Good young Barney rooster. Done a second candling today. Might have 3 quiters but not confirmed on 2 olive and one brown egg. Will CK them again in few days!

Well another batch set this afternoon. Little late for the Easter hatch-a-long but new Incubator arrived, 12 more Barnevelder X started! 🐣🐣🐥🐤Still excited! 😁

Speaking of Pros,😁 who can answer this one.....if I think my hatch was overheating yesterday, when does the blood ring appear? How many days after? I candled today and cannot see one. (I haven't taken my eggs out of the incubator yet)

I have another incubator due to arrive Wednesday!! Collecting new eggs! Gonna make this work!!! Last load had good development and fertility!
