Most silkies are like that very gentle and will have a best buddy. I have a satin naked neck silkie hen and a frizzle naked neck silkie hen that are inseparable. If I had any silkies close to the 5 month age I would have sent you pictures to help you see the difference between pullet and rooster.
Your silkie looks like a pullet . By no means am I an expert but my 5 month old silkies had combs like that. Should start laying eggs soon .The roosters combs were much bigger. I hope this helped you out .

I realize this post was made in October but I have a question I hope someone can answer. I hatched 5 button quail in an incubator . They hatch but will only drink water . I ground the crumbles to almost powder texture but they won't eat . Should I worry or will they start to eat soon?
