so we got the chick in question at tsc from a bin that was labeled "black sex link pullets", but the more she grows the more i think she's not a sex link, lol. she's now almost 2 weeks old, and she's huge, for one, considerably larger than our other two chicks (easter egger and cream legbar)...
not sure if this is the right place for this, but i wanted to ask about one of my hens. this isn't really a "new" issue or anything as the hen in question is 3 years old, but i wanted to know if there's something wrong with her or if she's just a little different. here's the hen in question- her...
hello, just got 4 baby chicks yesterday from the local tsc to add to our existing small flock of 3 three year old hens. one of the chicks seems a little odd- she walks funny (like waddling) which may be because she seems a little, well, wide. but she also keeps trying to get underneath the other...
So my flock has had quite the journey. We started with 2 ducklings for our backyard flock. They were with us for about 4 weeks and then both got taken by a fox. We were very sad, then upped the security of our pen and got six silkie chicks. 4 are roosters, and one of the girls died from a...
Ok, so my silkies are 10-12 weeks old (I believe; some are older than others) and i am still very confused on two of them. I have two i think are girls, two I think are boys, and two who confuse me. I will provide pics of all of them, but 1 and 2 are the girls, 3 and 4 are the boys, and 5 and 6...
Handsome young paint silkie rooster free, he is very sweet and tame, but not a fan of being held. He is 10-12 weeks old, already crowing (but it's not screechy or anything). Located in Montgomery County, Maryland. I will post updated pics tomorrow, but here are some of his chick pics.
One of my silkie chicks who is 10-12 weeks old, is acting sick. She isn't eating much and has a very large crop. She did this weird thing with her neck and stretched it for a bit. She also threw up some water. What should I do? What is wrong with her? Thanks for any help.
I have six 8 week old silkies, and i was wondering what gender they are.
I think there is 2 roosters and 4 hens. I attached pics. Each pic is a different chicken.
One of my chicks are acting some what lethargic and different than normal. She is not participating in all the "chick activities" that all the others are doing. We feed them medicated feed, so it shouldn't be coccidiosis. Do you think she is sick, or am i overreacting? Could it be I am feeding...
Hi, I'm new here and i just got 6 silkie chicks. They are going to be pets, and I want them to at least tolerate me. They run away from me all the time, and will not take treats from my hand. They don't really seem to be interested in treats at all. They are 6ish weeks old. Thanks!
