So I have a problem. My grandpa gave me a duck egg to hatch out almost 12 days ago, which I put in my incubator. He gave me another today so I put that one in. And my mom asked me to put 4 silkie eggs in on Sunday.
I only have one incubator. How do I manage these hatch dates when they are...
There is 1 hen that lays this color egg every time. It’s the only hen out of 20 or so that has this odd coloration.
Can someone tell me why her eggs are colored so oddly? Assuming it’s some sort of printing error, but it happens EVERY TIME. I’m hatching one. Just because 😁
Starting a new hatch tomorrow! Eggs being delivered tomorrow. They will be either silver laced Wyandottes or a silver laced Wyandotte rooster x Easter Egger hen. It will be fun to see how they turn out!
Pics will be added after eggs arrive tomorrow. I’ll label them and see how things go

My first flock. 7/12 are laying so for. They are so spoiled! I need a second refrigerator to hold the eggs. Also a pic of the little rescue silkies I recently obtained. They are looking so much better, still have a long way to go.
Starting some eggs tonight from some Blue Laced Red Wyandottes. Should have a mix of Blue, Black, and Splashed laced out of the eggs. Excited to get started!
13 weeks old, comb just started to go red. No crowing.
So this is from Hoover hatchery. I ordered 10 pullets and 5 unsexed. I have 5 roosters accounted for. This one looked like a pullet until about 2 weeks ago.
So what’s the vote? Cockerel or pullet? I’m thinking I got another cockerel-...
I have the NR360. I’ll be getting hatching eggs in the next couple days. I read the instructions so I understand how to turn on and use, but my question is, do you have to turn it on early or preheat it? Or do I wait until the eggs are in?
I’m getting some hatching eggs from someone and they have black Australorps. They are supposed to be pure- not mixed. The girl sent me a pic of the rooster and it looks like he has a different type of comb? Beautiful guy!
Can anyone tell me if this is just something that happens because of...
I got 4 chicks from a local. Supposed to be pure Australorps. They turn exactly 6 weeks tomorrow.
1st: do you think they are Australorps or mixed?
2nd: roo or pullets?
I was pretty sure this was a roo- but it’s the only one that hasn’t gotten red like the other roo’s so it’s making me question it. Can someone confirm for me?
I know the pics aren’t great. I can get better ones later.
Kinda long post….I thought I needed some background info 🤣
So my grandma hatched a few eggs for me and threw in an extra chick when she brought them to me. The yellow one.
She says she got the mom at a co-op locally and they called it a “champagne” chicken. Now, my grandma isn’t the best at...
I’m guessing this chick is one of the part ameraucana chicks. Interesting pattern on its face. The roo is australorp. I was told the hen could have been australorp, australorp/ameracauna mix or ameraucana.
Anyone seen one like this and could tell me what kind they think it is? Bottom left in...
I have 4 Black Australorps I got locally sold as straight run. They were born 2/8/23. Anyone want to guess what gender they are?
It’s too early to know for sure, but it’s fun to guess!!
Did my best on pics, the little buggers are fast!
these are 3 weeks old and I’m thinking of buying- I know it’s early. Anyone have an idea if they might be pullets? I’d rather not have two roosters if I can help it.
Any guesses either way?
The parents are the last pic
