I put sand down in my run 6 months ago and its now smelling bad so wanted to know, what do I do with all my dirty sand now its wet,and smelly ? Only owned chickens since last July so new to all this, thank you.
Cleaning the coop this morning and found these two eggs, my first two aswell :) Now I have a polish, 2 silkies and one millie fluer, who laid them do you think? All old enough to lay too .
I am so happy to show her off as she is the most beautiful and friendly chicken, still no eggs yet (I know I need a light in the coop) but I couldnt care less as just love her being our pet. Elsie loves to be picked up and loved and as she is the smallest in our crew she is also the most spoilt lol
We have replaced some of the plastic clear panels on the sides, on the door and top with chicken wire and filled with sand. I think more may need replacing when its hot and in winter putting back but for now they really do love being in there. I only leave them in when we go off to work as they...

I came home from work and went straight out to see my new pullets and noticed one had a runny eye so picked it up and can hear, like a snotty nose. Now today when I left she appeared fine. I have read to seperate her from the others but dont have another coop so will she be ok in a plastic box...
I have been offered a greenhouse, now I know I will have to remove all the glass, but do you know if this is a good idea or not? Can you leave the glass on the roof?
