Hello, I am wondering what the laws are for selling hatching eggs/breeding chickens in lake county. Specifically for AR zones and zones that fall under 10.01.06 Backyard Chicken laws. Do you need a limited poultry permit for either of these types of zones? I also do not see anything for selling...
Hello, I am looking for a home around NC for an easter egger pullet named Honey and a Blue Sapphire Gem cockerel named Bluey. Both are raised to be friendly with people and originally day olds I got from tractor supply. The reason I can not keep them is because I’m a student going back to...
I’d try to give them to my picky EE Bennu to see if she gives them the “Bennu approved award.” No one has managed to get it from her yet. I’m still looking for a treat she will eat.
My chicken started laying yesterday and finally was able to rest once the egg came out. The next morning she started sounding in pain again. Is there a way for me to help her?
I’ll send a photo soon. It hasn’t hatched yet but there are hatchlings in the incubator right now. I did see it moving when candling it. It pipped shortly before I posted this, but there were no hatchlings yet at the time, only another egg beginning to pip as well.
Edit: I can’t see it now...
The egg looked like this two days ago:
Compared to all my other eggs, it looked very behind. Is it normal for it to suddenly catch up in two days? There’s a pip now but in the center. I’m worried about another egg exploding.
ohh. No I didn’t smell that until it exploded. Edit: important to note I have a really bad sense of smell so there might’ve been a little something I just didn’t pick up on
Badly. How I would describe it is a rotting watermelon with, instead, a very noticeable egg stench. At a distance, you only smell the “very noticeable egg stench” but when you open it and get a whiff of the source, it is so strong and so bad your body will try to vomit involuntarily
I learned the hard way the next morning. Just wanted to get this out here so you can learn from my mistake.
I had also candled it about a week before. At that time, it looked very behind in development. 7 days later when I candled it again, the egg had gone completely dark which was a big red...
I’m using a brand new kebonnixs incubator I just bought and while I set it by hand to have one more day than the pre-set amount of days (because I ran it without eggs for 24 hours as a test) it’s still acting as if I didn’t add a day and saying there’s 3 days left. But when I go to change it...
