I am currently using this for my small flock of 3 chickens. I have it on a metal heater for the winter and so far no frozen water and the weather has been in the teens overnight where I live.
The only bad thing, and its no fault of the waterer is...those little chickadees that eat all my chickens food perch on the side and poop in the water so I have to change the water frequently
This is easy to clean with a good scrub brush, top screws on tightly. I like it!
