IncuKit 225W Cabinet IncuKit | Incubator Thermostat Fan Heater

Introducing the 225 Watt IncuKit(tm) by IncubatorWarehouse.com This is an all-in-one kit...
Pros: Fire safe, No exposed heating element, accurate, lots of air flow, upgradeable, and a very small gage fan guard.
Cons: No instructions on what wattage per square foot you should get.
I got one for my birthday, I constructed a cabinet, and I lined it with Styrofoam insulation. I mounted it at the top of the incubator, and it had great airflow. I opted for the fan 225 watt version. I put in 2 test eggs, and both have developed until hatch. My review might change if the hatch does not go well. I put in a few thermometers, and they all read the same. There was only a .2 degree different from top to bottom.

Pros: Easy to install, easy to read display, great customer support.
Cons: Mounting screw too short, wires could be longer.
Over all I really like this product. I looked at wiring my own thermostat and heat source, add the cost of all the equipment and I have to say this option came out to almost the same dollar amount without all the hassle of doing it myself. So far it has held temp perfectly. I had an issue at first with over heating, but the tech support guys at Incubator Warehouse were great and helped me reconfigure for my unit. I can't stress how great these guys are about helping you out.

The only complaint I have is that they do not recommend a cubic square foot range for their units. This one was way too big for the mini fridge I mounted it in and that was my issue. I don't mind as I plan to move to a larger unit later so I can just remount the IncuKit. I would suggest anyone else using this for a small incubator to get the 100 watt they sell and not this 225. It really is too much heat element for anything under 4 or 5 cubic square feet.

Read your instructions and watch their video, Also don't toy with the settings unless you really understand what you are doing. It is so much better to ask one of their techs. Oh, make sure you run it for a few days to a week to double check that it keeps your range before setting any eggs in it. That is how I figured out it was getting too hot. Putting any incubator together and dropping eggs in it after a day of running is just asking for trouble. Test, test, and double check before placing those precious eggs.

Hope that helps!

Pros: None
Cons: Burns out easily
I have had 2 of these burn out. The first one almost caught fire they are rated for 300 watt but will not handle it. The second one was running a 150 watt bulb in a hatcher I noticed the bulb had burned out and moved the hatcher to change the bulb. This movement caused the filament in the bulb to flicker once and that small surge was enough to kill this second thermostat. I now have 22 dollar wafer thermostat in it and couldn't be happier.
Pros: called them and they are making it right
Cons: then fryed all the eggs
WARNING

UPDATE THE INCUKIT FROM INCUBATOR WAREHOUSE FRYED THIS MORNING AND COOKED OVER 100 GOOSE EGGS INCLUDING BUFF DEWLAP TOULOUSE, SEBBIES AND EMBDENS PLUS ALL THE SCOVIES SO I WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN

update just talk to one of the owners of incubator warehouse and they are taking care of this with no problems and considering discontinuing the thermostat
Pros: Compact, Efficient, Accurate temp reading
Cons: Wires short, Humidity not monitored, Egg turner settings not clarified for auto egg turners IW sells to be used with this unit
I built my own incubator out of an old "min" fridge/freezer. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...ng-fridge-freezer-into-a-nice-sized-incubator

Pros:
Compact
Efficient
Accurate

Cons:
Wires too short
Humidity not monitored within "This is an all-in-one kit" (have to buy a humidity monitor separately)
Egg turner settings not clarified for the auto egg turners IW sells to be used with this unit

I was excited to get my IncuKit and get everything connected to start hatching some Quail and Chicken eggs. I was pleased with the unit until I started placing everything where it needed to be and noticed that the wiring was too short to reach everything properly. I think that for the price, IW could have at least made the cords about a foot longer, including the temp probe.

After configuring everything so it would fit within the constraints of the wiring, I powered the unit on. After going through all of the options I was a little disappointed that there was not a humidity reading. What this means to me is that there is another expense to "complete" the incubator setup. Seeing that humidity is a NECESSITY to incubate ANY type of egg AND the very first line of the 225w IncuKit says "This is an all-in-one kit designed to be the heart and brains of your cabinet incubator.", I was honestly expecting it to be a reading on the display :(

I also purchased a Hova-Bator auto egg turner to use with this unit and no where in the instructions does it tell you what settings to use for the specific automatic egg turners. The default settings are: Turner-100%, Trn On T-4s and TrnFullC-12m. I had my turner connected for hours and did not notice ANY movement! I do know that the Hova-Bator and Little Giant auto egg turners are a complete cycle every 4 hrs so those settings do not seem to be correct for those models that they sell..

All in all, I must admit, this unit DOES heat up very quickly and with a few adjustments to the settings, it holds FIRM at 99.5F! I gave it 3.5 stars for everything due to the small issues I feel as though could and SHOULD be fixed for the next version of this unit! If they are, I would happily give it 5 stars across the board!
