Pros: Doesn't bully, keeps pecking order alive, lays large eggs (even huge ones on occasion) and lays them often, pretty friendly
Cons: N/A
I love my JG Honeynut! She's black and so pretty in the sunlight. She isn't loud, and she's besties with my d'uccle (who thinks that she is actually the queen of everything)
Pros: Great layers, loves to be held, not aggressive to the flock but still high on the pecking order, very cold-hardy
Cons: Tends to wander and is a bit of a nutter, slightly less heat hardy.
I love Hex Nut my Buff Orp. She's so pretty and lays lovely brown eggs. She does try to hatch them on occasion but since we don't have a rooster she gives up pretty quick! I love my bird!
Cons: She is VERY loud, doesn't lay well, and is bossy to anything bigger than her except the cat. Also she escapes from the run if I don't put rocks around it.
I would HIGHLY recommend getting a Mille Fleur, Or any kind of d'Uccle for that matter. They are small, so if you had a flock of them you could have a smaller coop. My full grown one is about the size of a dove. I got mine from a farm museum gift shop, and she has been one of the best things in life along with all the other 17 different chicken breeds that I have had so far.
