I have 6 of these I caught on sale. At first the New Jersey Giants ignored them and I removed the wooden nest box setup they had. They lay in the boxes and break very, very few.
They install in minutes and can be relocated just as quick.
Cons: Price, currently 7-8 weeks to get one, need an XXL version
I ordered one to raise chicks in. Currently, it houses 15 8 week olds and they move to a big coop.
I built a stand using their plans and added the Hentronix automated door.
I have 4 of these in with my New Jersey Giants, they don’t use the boxes because they can’t fit. The smaller hens in the flock use them. I’ll be moving these boxes to a new coop for New Hampshire Reds this weekend.
These boxes are easy to install and easy to clean and care for.
I’ve had an Eco Glow for over a year and it’s helped raised several Groups of chicks.
it’s an easy and fast setup and uses very little electricity (20 watts or less). This was the easiest way I’ve tried to keep chicks warm. Available on Amazon and some pet sites.
Chicks will outgrow it in a few weeks and it’s my sign it’s time to leave the brooder cage and go to the youngsters coop and run.
there is a visible LED pilot light to tell you if it’s running.
Worth the money for me. I loathe heat lamps.
I do control the heat on the Eco Glow with a smart house sensor and I am able to adjust as chicks age.
