Pros: Amazing egg layers, awesome curious personality
I started off with two wonderful leghorns. They are amazingly sweet, beautiful, cuddly animals. They are curious and get into a lot of trouble (which is why I now have only one. RIP Flash). Now a year old, getting an egg everyday from my leghorn. Wish I had a few more!

Pros: Sweet, Calm, Cuddly birds
I love my Black Australorps! They are such sweet calm birds, even my Rooster is a cuddle bug! They are great layers. My hens aren't too noisy (although can sound amazingly like a baby is crying outside from time to time). Definitely will continue getting BA's!

Pros: Tasty treat
Cons: May cause crazy gimme eyes
My girls (and rooster) love Happy Hen Mealworm treats! They give you the crazy GIMME NOW or I will JUMP ON YOU eyes. LOL The other thing better is real mealworms!

Pros: A lot of excellent information
This was a gift from my husband and has ended up being a great resource. The book gives a lot of excellent information for the beginner chicken owner.

Pros: Nice, secure coop
Cons: the roof doesn't open up
We bought this coop to replace the Ware chicken coop. For the price it is absolutely fabulous. Due to the bad luck we've had with cheaper coops, we did immediately stain and weather proof the coop and it is absolutely adorable. The girls love it and it's wonderful having multiple nest boxes for the girls. A few sites say this is for 8-10 chickens. I don't agree. I think the coop should be listed for no more than 5. I bought mine from http://cumfychickencoopsnhutchs.com/nuresry-chicken-cabin.html who has been great. Easy to put together.

Pros: Light weight, effective
Cons: Cheaply made.
There isn't too many bad things I can say about this run. While it is made of light wood, it is relatively sturdy and I haven't had any problems at all with it. I have had to stain the pen, but it's definitely going to outlive the coop that it is meant to go with. This pen is now attached to my new coop and will be around a while. It is also very easy to put together.

Pros: It keeps them housed
Cons: Cheap wood, weathers easily, not efficient
When I bought my first few chicks from TSC, I bought this coop. Within a couple of months, the wood was starting to weather so badly I needed to stain it to protect it. It feels like it has been a constant battle with this coop just to keep everything tight and not falling apart. In Ohio, this is not a good coop for the winter. Save your money and move on to something better from the very beginning.
