Chickens love to peck corn off the ground. It is like candy for them. My brood comes running when they hear me shaking it in a coffee can.Can be given occasionally as a treat, but not good as their only food.
My Silver Sebrights are friendly little birds, that are alert and very active. They free range, and get along with my large fowl and other banties. The roosters don't realize that they are banties, because they court the Large Fowl hens and don't back down from the LF roos.
I was given a pair last spring, that have grown into a flock of 11. The hen has been broody three time since I got her, and is a great mother. They are lots of fun to watch, but the cockerels love to fight. We had to cull several roosters, because all they did was fight. They even challenged the large fowl roos.
