Pros: Beautiful and healthy chicks
Cons: Had two die
I ordered from cackle hatchery and got 20 chicks. They sent extras and all of them have grown up to be beautiful birds! I had two die when they arrived from failure to thrive. I also got plenty of pullets out of straight run chicks. They also were able to ship them very soon and that was unexpected.

Pros: Very nice,beautiful
Cons: None
I have a pair of lavender orpingtons and they are both very nice. They will fly up onto my arm, head,or shoulder and will follow me around wherever I go. They are getting big and I wanted a big bird! I don't know about egg production though since the hen hasn't started laying yet.

Pros: Pretty, suppose to lay pretty colored eggs
Cons: Shy, doesn't like to be picked up, or touched.
My easter eggers are very pretty, but do not like to be picked up or touched. They don't like to be around me but sometimes will let me hold them on rare occasions or if I catch them. They're skittish but are beautiful and can come in many different colors. I raised them up as chicks and got a variety of pretty colors and I currently have 4 of them. Mine have not started laying yet but they're suppose to lay beautiful green/blue eggs. I also got them from Cackle hatchery.

Pros: Sweet, adorable, great with kids, and very nice.
Cons: Can be expensive if its a very good quality and lay small eggs.
Silkies are very cuddly and soft. They're great with kids and will let me pick them up very easily with out having to chase them everywhere. They have a good personality and anyone that comes to visit, the silkies are there favorites! They lay small eggs so there not for someone that wants big eggs, if you want to show them than they can get expensive for good birds. If you don't plan on showing them, you can get them for cheap. The price above is how much I spent on ALL of my silkies, not just one.

Pros: Very nice, very entertaining, sweet, and are not hard/expensive to take care of.
Cons: Fly high, small eggs, and very small in size.
They are very sweet and will fly up onto my arm, head,or shoulder. They run to me whenever they see me. I free range mine and their feet feathers do get dirty but don't need special care unless you're going to show them. I got mine from cackle hatchery and some are good quality. I have porcelain d'Uccles and I plan on getting more!
