They are quite friendly💕🐔. I thought they were a mix of Welsummer and leghorn, but I see a reply below that they are Pearl Star Leghorns? I'm going to Google that now.

Thank you for replying. Several hours of online research produced no results. Hopefully it's only temporary (for newly laying pullet) and resolves on its own. My main concern was that it was some kind of worm. Eeek

That's great you have this support. My last 2 posts have only had one person reply. If I was depending solely on BYC for advice/ support, my flock would probably be dead. Seems like a popularity contest here as to who gets a response.

(The darkest yolk egg had a blood spot that doesn't show in the photo, which I now know is safe to eat). Silly, I know. I never paid that much attention when I cracked an egg until they were from my own flock.

On March 14th, I purchased what were advertised as brown leghorns (Rural King), BUT.... they finally started laying and they have only laid brown eggs. BTW, their earlobes are only partially white. Are they welsummers instead? Or a mix of the two? Or something else?
