    We ordered 3 more black astralorps and three red comets. It will be our first experience with sex links. And 2 red and blue wyandottes from another breeder. Those will be the closest thing to peacocks I will have!

    I have never been able to master gf pie crust. I am a very good from scratch baker with wheat flour. I am so impatient with gf baked goods. And that phyllo crust is so delicious! I will post if I can pull it off.

    I have a black heat bulb in a caged hanging lamp, a thermometer, a nice big tub, chick sized feeder and waterer. I am a mother hen myself. I tend to check on then very often.

    Probably something with eggs! Seriously, have we got an egg recipe thread? I think we are putting a pork shoulder in the smoker today. That will be a few meals. The leftover pork when cubed makes incredible chili.

    So excited! There should be 2 Buff Orpington, 2 Wyandottes, one barred rock, and one Colombian rock. Their Bin is set up and getting warm. Everything is in place. Photos to follow later today. Raised 6 to adulthood last year and all did well, but sadly we last one to a hawk. Hens are now secure...

    Hens are all using one nest box

    My afternoon report: I can't believe it! 4 eggs for the day from my 5 girls. 2 eggs in each box! Who knows what tomorrow will bring, but there was very little screaming this morning. Thank God.
