Wild Mallards- How to dissuade them from making themselves at home.

Hey duck enthusiasts! I have a friend in Northern Utah who have a couple of wild mallards who are hanging about their property. They have named them and don't mind them in their yard doing their thing. However, the ducks seem to like hanging around their door and leaving their droppings all...

Does everyone stress ordering chicks the first time 😱

The people who were holding my chicks at the local office were infatuated by seeing them! Unsure how sick of hearing them peep at that point they were, lol

3 month old Sebright Rooster with yellow spotted comb

Thank you for your quick advice! I will add this into their water. Can't really do much more about stress. I do have chicks- should I be extra diligent about bio controls to prevent the little ones from getting the virus? They are currently in brooder and not with the flock.

3 month old Sebright Rooster with yellow spotted comb

Title is descriptive. I have a silver Sebright roo who had a scab on his comb form earlier this week. I thought it was due to pecking from the other rooster and was monitoring for any signs of continued abuse or damage. Thankfully there has been no fighting from the roosters or any hen pecking...

    Chicken Death

Here is how I zipped the apron on mine. The black ties are very hard to see from further away, with one area still having the full length of tie

    Chicken Death

So sorry to hear! Hardware cloth is easier to work with and protects better in my experience. Hopefully it will treat you and your flock right.

Rooster Sitting Fluffed up- Do chickens get "stomach aches"?

It does seem to be, though I was a little late in getting out there today so he probably already started eating when I had checked. I think it was just a passing thing, as he is acting generally normal again. I appreciate your time, Wyorp.

Rooster Sitting Fluffed up- Do chickens get "stomach aches"?

Here's the board under where he roosted with a hen. I am not sure, but I think the one nearest the black feather is his. I should note, they have clean water 24/7 and an electrolyte mix (Chick Boost) that I put out when I notice the Australorps panting. Yesterday was a bit warmer than it has...
