When the hens new house was built, I have a hen who would push all other hens off the entire roost cuz she wanted it for herself. In the morning, I would find the other hens in different places in the hen house. I drapped a small soft blanket over part of the roost and now she covets her...

Very strange thread indeed. Never withhold food or water from any hen/creature in your care for any reason. Some of these 'broody solutions' sound like old wives tales. Give her a fertile egg and let nature take its course.

I have to ditto the above comment, but the crate is a good base start, and adding on shouldn't be too much of a problem. This is where it can be fun, the expanding part can get creative. Looking forward to pics :)
