Check out my ultimate chicken coop/run!

Very nice. You will want to close off the nest boxes with cardboard until they are ready to lay. You don't want them to get in the habit of sleeping in those. Also do you have a latch on the nest box?

    Tired of the soupy run!

Ditches, dams, drains, gutters and roofs = dry run thats low or on a slope. I know when you get monsoon rains the battle of the boot sucking mud is real but adding things to the soup will only make your problem worse and stinky. Grab a shovel. Best time to dig is in the rain and you can see...

X2 on the 1 gallon thing. Works great for me also in winter. We only use the big waterer when we go on vacation so the sitter does not have to fool with water.

I have my older 4 yr old girls trained to recall but I've not yet trained the teenagers to THE CUP. That is the best way. Put their treats in a bright color cup and then feed them from your hand. So this for at least a week and they will come RUNNING any time you need them to. Chicken...

An alternative to sand is pine pellets made into sawdust. Still scoopable, smell better and compostable. I'm a scooper too :D
