Baby Chick No Vane in Feathers

Yea, I thought it could be FFT. But it's just so odd to me that she'll go from gasping for air to running around and eating and drinking. Every other chicken I had with pneumonia or some sort of respiratory illness was totally weak and incapacitated by the time they started in on the gasping...

My hen is peking all the others ( images included)

My mother-in-law had an issue with all her hens pecking at her polish rooster's head, but it was only at night in the coop, so she just had him sleep in a different coop at night til his feathers all grew back, and then it wasn't an issue anymore. Maybe if you did that and let your other hen's...

Baby Chick No Vane in Feathers

Took some videos. She is outside with her adoptive mom (Purd, the mom, was broody, so I took this egg that had been on the counter for two weeks to put under her because I feel bad when they sit on nothing. I checked it and nothing was growing, so I forgot about it. Then, SURPRISE! This little...

Baby Chick No Vane in Feathers

I have a 2 and a half week old chick I (happily) accidentally hatched. I have hatched other black silkies before, and she is just not growing like the others, and, a couple days ago, she has started exhibiting upper-respiratory and rear-end issues. I was up with her until 3am last night because...

Rooster with Infected Abscess in Throat

I would love it if that were the case because then I wouldn't have to worry about it coming back, but it was under the lining of his throat. Funny enough, I think I found the abscess stuck on his tail later when I got him out of the carrier... like he may have coughed it up. Pretty gross. Lol...

Rooster with Infected Abscess in Throat

(Corndog one day ago... perfectly healthy... or so I thought.) I wanted to post this for posterity, just so everyone knows it's something to look out for. Today, I noticed my rooster, Corndog, wheezing. He is 3.5 years old and has always been so healthy. I brought him inside to monitor him...

Elector PSP: How Often to Use, Safe to Use with Permethrin?

Everything that I read about Elector said that it's supposed to kill adults, larvae, and eggs on contact. That's why you don't have to re-treat your chickies with it like you do with other pesticide options that take longer to kill and needs to stay on the skin. That being said, I imagine it'd...

    Blood for Stool

Also, just a side note, I do live in Maryland where our air quality has been "Very Unhealthy" on the air quality index for the last couple of days due to the wildfires in Canada. If it's not coccidia, I wonder if that could have something to do with her illness.

    Blood for Stool

I checked it out right away. It looks healthy.

    Blood for Stool

That's exactly what I did! And fits idea about the oral dose. I'll do that now.
