I built this small coop for my special needs blind hen. She was attacked by an aggressive chicken and lost her eyesight completely in one eye and most of her sight in the other eye (I think can only see light and dark and movement).
I wasn’t certain she would make it but after a lot of care...
There is ventilation that actually can’t be seen along the entire roof line :) I have learned to completely ignore the YouTube “police” lol. I didn’t include it in the video bc it was getting too long as it was and so many details I just couldn’t get into for the sake of time.
And thank you...
One of my hens sustained really bad injuries to her eyes from being attacked by another hen. She is almost totally blind -- one eye is 100% blind and the other I belive she can see movement and light and dark.
I wasn't sure if she'd ever fully recover, but after living in my house for about 2...
I recently posted about my leghorn who was blinded by another flock mate. Both her eyes were pecked at basically to the point that she can only see light and dark and possibly movement but that’s it. I had her on antibiotics for 10 days and she’s made a full recovery! Though she can’t see, she...
Hi! I took some (rather poor) photos of what’s on my microscope slides, at 40x and then 100x with oil. Can anyone help me indentify anything on these slides? I’m so bad at figuring this stuff out. Please see photos.
Ps. I did these with fecal floats w/centrifuge
Thank you!!

The clear gel...
Creams that are used for vaginal yeast infections in women are very good for this, apply to the affected area after first cleaning with water. I would also suggest giving micanazole suppositories orally. I’ve never treated it naturally, with a nasty infection like this it really needs more big...
I have a 4 year old golden comet hen. (Lifespan is typically 3-5 years)
She had sour crop and I successfully treated it. No more infection, weird smells or drooling liquid. I was hoping once treated she’d go back to her old self, but she is drinking almost no water and eating only sporadically...
I have a 3 year old golden comet hen (White Rock hen x New Hampshire rooster sexlink crossbreed).
She has lately been presenting with droopy wings, droopy tail, fatigue and in the past couple days it’s gotten worse.
I brought her inside into the hospital pen to observe and noticed when she...
