When the eggs are too big for the carton.

Very nice eggs!
Question: I am considering spending $155 with McMurray for some clear plastic egg cartons. Have you found that the clear plastic ones increase sales, over the opaque paperboard or styrofoam cartons?

I have yet to sell any but as a consumer I appreciate the plastic from a durability and recycling standpoint. If you are just selling some locally you could have an incentive to return the plastic ones to you. Otherwise the paper ones are still the more eco friendly option in my opinion. They are compostable, burnable and can still be recycled.
I would stay away from the styro foam ones at all costs. I think being able to see the eggs without opening tbe carton is nice as well. I do make use of the them for family egg gifts as I get the carton back when they are done. For strangers I prefer to use the paperboard if I have them. The plastic ones are also a different shape and i find fits in the fridge better, and even fits well in the minifridge.

Sorry for the rambling but I hope that helps. Im just restarting my flock so I havent had any selling opportunities yet. Most of my previous sales have been in show-birds, laying hens and ducks.
