Hey guys, welcome to my article on why you need a sturdy, ventilated chicken coop!

I am going to go over a few things about how it affects you and your flock.

Having an insecure chicken coop always makes matters worse.
If your chicken coop is constantly exposed to predators, with large holes, weak fencing, and rickety boards,
predators can easily get in and kill your chickens. Even if the predators can’t get in, if you have lots of windows or
thin walls in the coop, your flock can get stalked by foxes, coyotes, and more. During the day, your flock can get very
nervous, and stop laying eggs out of stress. That automatically stops you from getting eggs for your household!
Your coop should also have airways and vents throughout the coop so your chickens will not get stuffy in the summer,
but it should have thick enough wood and no cracks so they do not get cold in the winter. With all of that applied, that
is a recipe for some happy birds.

Here is a picture of a very insecure chicken coop:

It has very thin wood, weak fencing, and NO overall roof protection. A predator can easily rip up and get into that coop and run! There are several windows, and the chickens can get stalked from an animal! While it has great ventilation, in the winter, you chickens will get very cold. I found this on amazon, so of course it was poor quality, even with the insane price that it came with!

Now this is a sturdy, NOT store bought chicken coop:

This chicken coop is homemade, strong, and very secure. It has strong overall fencing, thick wood, insulation for the winter, and a ventilation for the summer. It has a safe run, blocked off from the predators, and a closed off coop, so the chickens can’t even see the predators! If you ever plan on building or even buying a chicken coop, make sure it has all of the stated qualities.

Every chicken coop should have a run.
The run should have at least 10 square feet per chicken.
The coop should have at least 4 square feet per chicken.
The coop should have complete access to ventilation and insulation.

This chicken coop exceeds it all!

I hope my article helped you all out!
