If you are tired of your little darlings scratching feed out of their feeder, here is an idea for modifying the feeder for no feed waste.
Cut the 1 & 1/2 inch middle section from a *small* plastic cup.
Insert into the plastic feeder base.
You can use a couple pieces of duct tape to secure, not necessary though.
Make sure the plastic section does not touch the bottom of the feeder, but leave a gap for the feed to come out.
The crumble will be funneled lower into the feeder so the chicks will have to stick their little heads in the holes to eat.
They will not be able to scratch the feed out. This saves so much wasted feed and less mess.
