This year my ducks decided that out ten acres was just not enough space for the seven of them. So I had to take away their rights to roaming the property to just roaming the backyard and goat pasture. An absolute fight I had was finding a way to keep their feed from getting eaten by the goats (one of which is to smart for his own good, as in can figure out combination locks)
I tried building multiple structures with what I had available to me, all of which the goats figured out how to break open, flip, even squeeze through a long narrow tube, to get to the ducks feed.

Well the other day I saw this metal cage thing someone put out to the road. I thought maybe, just maybe it would work.
It was made of metal, the heating was large enough only the ducks and chickens could get their head through, it had chicken sized holes in one end and the bottom had a line of mesh at the bottom to make a basket. When turned on it’s side the goats shouldn’t be able to get the feed, it the goats can fit their head through the holes they can’t push the cage to where they can reach the feed, because the feed sits on the side that would form a basket.

So far it’s working so I thought I would share :)
