Guide to Assisted Hatching for All Poultry

I have quite a few chicks that either have been unable to make an external pip or are shrink wrapped. This article is helping me save them, one by one!
Thanks for explaining and settling my nerves. ?
This woman has saved so many little chickens' lives, it's unthinkable! Words can't begin... Thank you beyond measure, Pyxis❣️
I've read this article multiple time and referred other people to it. I've assisted my eggs successfully because of it. It's simply an awesome article. Easy to understand. Accurate. It gives you confidence to assist and walk others through it.
This article is a life saver, literally.
This article alone taught me everything I needed to know about assisted hatch. I had a very problematic hatch earlier in the year where, had I not assisted, I’d only have 5 / 13 ducklings right now. With this article, I was able to save 5 more, and successfully hatched 10 / 13. Everyone is happy, healthy, and growing oh-so fast! Thank you so much! :hugs
Okay few thank you so much

Thank you so much for this article. I just incubated 10 eggs. Only 5 hatched on their own. I assisted 4 of them and they are all doing great! The other one was already dead when I cracked it open. I'm so happy to have 9 chicks instead of just five!!
This helped me so much! I have never had an assist go well but today I helped three teeny white silkied serama hatch using this method! It worked!!!!!
What an excellent wealth of information. You can never learn to much - thank you!:jumpy

On day 20, I had a chick that had pipped, but sat for 28 hours without going any further. I could see it's beak moving, but I was sure it was stuck. I found this article and followed the instructions to help complete it's zIp. I wrapped it in a warm wet washcloth and stuck it back in the incubator at 10:30pm. At 4:00 am, I went to check on the chick to find a beautiful little French Marans chick looking up at me. It had kicked it's way out and was beginning to fluff-up. This article helped save my baby.
Great article! Thank you. ?

I used these instructions and was able to hatch a chick successfully. Sadly, Valor had to be culled the day after Valentine's Day (the day after she hatched) due to birth deformeties, but that had nothing to do with the guide. This guide is very useful and I will use it next time I have the need and recommend it to anyone who is attempting assisted hatching.
:thumbsup
This article has helped me save countless baby chicks. It has all the necessary information to walk you through an assisted hatch and help you figure out if you should assist. It also expains malpositions, which I had trouble understanding until I read this. This is my go to for any hatching questions or worries I or any others may have. Thank you so much Pyxis! I am so grateful for this article. Here is my sweet little guy who would have died if it weren't for this. He was my first assisted hatch. He is the perfect protector for my hens.

Omg once I read this I realised how much of a miracle my first hatchling was. She is a australorpe frizzle and she was our first hatch, 100% unassisted and she is super strong… from what I can tell now she hatched too early she finished zipping and gave one big push and she popped out, she still had a yolk (we thought that was normal😂) and now I can tell she hatched feet over head and away from her air cell
