I currently have Rhode Island Reds and Buff Orpingtons. I am new to owning chickens and am so glad I made the decision to keep chickens. It is so much more rewarding than I had even imagined.
Buff Orpington:
-I like how this breed lays well and are quite docile
-I don't have to worry about these girls flying over the fence due to their size
-They are usually quiet but seem to enjoy celebrating their egg laying (who can blame them?)
-My girls are 6 months old currently
Rhode Island Reds
-Beautiful red feathers
-Seem quite quiet
-Are supposed to be excellent layers but I have yet to see this for myself as they are only 3 months old
