Egg Production and How to Get the Most from your Laying Hens

I do like chickens although I do not own any. I enjoy learning about them. Theses articles are very informative. I relate some of the feeding information to the quail that come to my yard every day to eat. I enjoy watching them eat and their interactions.
I knew a little of the material covered in this article, and it was good to know that I was thinking correctly.
Very good article. Covered all angles.
Learned some new things from the article. I tend to agree with flock owners who "let nature take its course concerning cold weather/winter slowing of egg production. The article makes a good reminder not to overload hens with snacks. We give ours greens --they love spinach and chard. In the spring we will plant them their own greens garden near their run.
Kudos on a very helpful article (and well written, says my English teacher husband).

our hens stopped laying but recently me and my dad installed a light timer and yesterday we got 6 eggs instead of 1!

Very good explanations and reasoning. The fact that you get not only tips, but the reason why and how the tips work is great. I have personal experience with some of these methods and can say that I have seen most of these work very well. The link for breed info was also a very helpful addition. Keep up the good work!
