I gave this article 4 stars instead of 5 because it seems to downplay red fox activity during the day. I have not dealt with a red fox attack, but I have seen them in my area during the day, and read of many daylight attacks on flocks.
threads for more discussions on key points. Great article!
I have a question: would the "ammonia soaked rag in tin can method" be an issues for the chickens, or would having the ammonia around the perimeter of the coop/run be far enough away not to irritate the chicken's respiratory system?
Nice to see the plans you were working from, and the progress pictures. Helpful to know what you would have changed. If you're back on BYC anytime it would be interesting to know how the coop is working out for you long term (especially, how is the ventilation?)
