I think the article is very well done. There are detailed instructions, detailed specifications, and lots and lots of well explained photos. That's why I rate this as a full 5-star article.

The concept of mixing the rabbit and chickens I'm not so sure about. For space, as long as the lower area is ALWAYS open and available my math says you'd have 32 square feet, with is acceptable for a coop to hold 8 chickens. As you say, the run space is not included in this.

This is an incredibly well-done coop and article. I'm impressed with the quality of the build. The coop should last until your children are adults and bringing their own kids over to see the chickens!

The article included sketches, photos all along the way, descriptive captions, everything. You included your thought process and reasons behind the building choices you made. Well done!

Some nice photos, with good samples of various stages of work in progress. It would have really benefitted with some write-up and discussion of materials and process. The photos are enough that someone with a good deal of experience could replicate the coop, but it would be hard for anyone not experienced with carpentry and framing to build from just the images.

I think a lot of planning and work went into this coop and run. The pictures and documentation are well done, but probably not enough information for someone else to recreate the coop.

For the coop itself, I wonder about the ventilation. Is there enough ventilation for year-round use? Is there going to be a problem with condensation during the winter? Related to that are the double walls and insulation really necessary? Is it possible that the insulation will collect moisture and become a place for mold and pests to congregate?

Still, I'm guessing the coop is effective and is VERY pretty. That's why the 4 stars.

This was full of detail, lots of photos of relevant items, and explanations for WHY specific things were done. The details on the lessons learned are also very helpful. This is a great coop and extremely well documented.
