Informative and nicely written, very personable, and honest. What I really enjoyed was that you offer practical reasons for hope and a measure of optimism, where many would find only doom and gloom. Thank you!
Thank you so much! Getting ready to incubate 12 eggs from my vaccinated bantams. This will be their third and in some cases 4th generation. Also I have two wonderful Egyptian Fayoumi and Amish Barnyard cross roosters. There is hope after Marek's folks!
Lovely coop and run, lots of detail with good pictures, the movie and tips on tools too, excellent article. A very nice home for chickens!
What's the square footage of ventilation in the final build? I would think it's good with the open eaves and cap area.
I'm not an architect but I have had wind lift and topple a (heavy) run in progress, before sides were enclosed and the whole thing staked down. Which direction is the prevailing wind? The coop is probably too heavy but I worry the run might lift and pull, and neither appear tied to the ground.
Nicely done! Good pictures and text. A great job on getting the photo angles right showing what you're explaining. The first picture shows all the parts of the entire harness really well, so it is easy to place what one is looking at in the the later photos. Thank you for writing it!
Very good article, especially with the pictures illustrating the details of construction! Lots of inspiring ideas (skylight for run top) & good suggestions (use screws, not nails)! I love the easy side access with this design.
Just finished this - what a great article! Very informative and very personably written. Thank you for writing it! I am going to consult my chicken book and then chickens for the anatomy of where that knee-ankle point is and what it looks like.
Very good information & nicely written with obvious compassion for the hen. I enjoyed the added videos and pictures. The demonstration for force-feeding moistened food was very helpful. In the coments the link to proper pacement for mouth-feeding water is also helpful, maybe coiuld be integrated into the article? Updates on her progress needed, please!
